Rapahana is shortened from a river and a region in Virginia. My great grandfather bred and hunted great dogs in this region. Though I never met him, my family has shared the stories of his dogs and him for as long as I can remember. So in memory of my Great grandfather and the dog I remember hearing about the most, "Rap" and the Rappahannock river, and the part of Virginia I miss the most, I have named all my dogs using the Rapahana prefix.

There are many dogs that have shared my heart that are not shown on these pages. Each taught me something and when they went onto the "Rainbow Bridge" they took a great piece of my heart with them. So in memory of Toby (my first mix breed) Ralph and George (our cockapoo, remember they were going to be the big "new" breed) the Afghans, Peaches, Kizzy, Blue, Tanker, Dallas, Angel, Annie and Sari', the Whippets, Dolly (my first and the beginning of the black Rapahana whippets) Remy, Measles, Faye and Levy, and the track Greyhounds, Tulsa, Flap, and Kitty. Thank you for being a part of my life....

This homepage is going to start with the dogs that Terry and I have shared. Please enjoy our story and our dogs. They mean a lot to us and we hope you enjoy the work Debbie Fulkerson (Show Dog Designs) has done to help you see them....

UPDATE
Terry and I divorced in 2001, because of all the dogs we shared together I
think he should remain of this web site but I do want to update all of my
friends as to where I am and what is going on in my life.
I have moved back to the east coast, Alexandria VA, to be exact. I went to
high school here (T.C.Williams of "Remember the Titans" fame and I was one
of the original titans) and this has always been "my home". I am a dog
trainer at the Olde Towne School For Dogs (www.OTSFD.com) in olde town
alexandria. I love it. I am still showing Tigger in a few shows and have
started to show other peoples loved pets too. All is well with me and I am
engaged to my high school sweetheart (Bill). Wedding to be planned at a
later date!!! We are having a great time and he enjoys my passion for my
hounds too. We now have six dogs. I brought Tigger, Forrest, OJ and Tyler
with me. Terry kept Max. Bill had his "American brown dog" Elsie and we
have rescued a jack Russell terrier(Darby) together.
Thank all of you for your well wishes in the past and I look forward to
seeing all the familiar faces at a dog show near here.
